This little robin came to sing me his little song while I worked.
Cotinus leaves are some of the very best for autumn colour! A lot of folks choose the purple ones, but this one’s green in summer, and then has extra-amazing colour throughout autumn, in every shade of yellow, orange, red, pink and purple. I think it’s the American smoke tree; cotinus obovatus.
This juniper shield bug is #275 on my garden species list!
