LITTLE JOYS: 19th December 2022

I’ve been in bed with flu for a few days, so this week’s post is shorter than usual. Not that there have been fewer little joys – but they have been less photogenic. Cuddles, convenience dinners made for me, long naps – that sort of thing. Still, here’s what I have for you.

It snowed! There were tiny footprints on my doorstep in the morning.

Black and white.

Moody winter sun. Soon it’ll be the shortest day…

Little Joys: moody winter sun

Warmed up with this extremely tasty Brew York beer in the evening: dark and rich and pecany. I bought it from Rad Beer during our trip to Shrewsbury.

Blue skies returned!

Grey winter moodiness has its charms, but gleaming white snow under blue skies sure makes the heart gladder!

Warming soup lunch.

Footprints on the pond. I’m sure they tell a story but I never quite figured it out…

Spiky frost crystals on the snow’s surface as it started to melt.

Look closer…

You reckon a girl can ever have too many gemstone bracelets?? I love them!

Our place has been cold this week, and when I came down with the flu we even broke out the extra heater. We’re so grateful that we can afford to keep warm, and that we have heating and hot water.

We started decorating for Christmas and hung up our homemade star garlands. We have an extra room to decorate this year so perhaps it’s time to make some more! See how I made them here. Today we buy our Christmas tree!

And here’s something a little different for you. We broke out the Christmas music at home, starting with this incredibly beautiful Kingdom Choir track.
