Because it’s not the big goals and successes in life that bring true happiness, but the little joys that you choose to notice each day.
My Christmas was full of blessings, love and simple pleasures! I hope yours was magical too.
Last Monday, we finally put up our tree! We choose a small potted tree and try to keep it going in the garden, but this one is new this year after the last one stopped thriving.
Winter solstice sunrise.
The huge mahonia in the town centre is still in full flower after the snow. Bees will love it on warm winter days!
I love the ‘baubles’ on the plane trees in the high street in winter.
More eco-friendly decorations for the tree, for sale in a local gift shop.
Guilty pleasure at Five Guys…
Date night! Think we’ve found a new favourite pub… It was so cosy, decked out for Christmas with the fire roaring.
Someone left this on the high street.
And this!
And there are knitted toppers on every postbox in town!
Christmas cooking. I put this off til kinda the last minute… but actually it was so enjoyable and therapeutic, pottering in the kitchen by myself and listening to music. I lose touch with this sometimes!
It’s a marmalade cheesecake. It was wonderful!
Feasting with family. Christmas dinner wouldn’t be Christmas dinner without heaps of bread sauce, chestnut stuffing and mashed swede!
We jigsawed!
Tipsy truffles (from Hotel Chocolat).
Boxing day sandwich! Turkey and beetroot. And looking forward to more like this – Christmas isn’t Christmas without heaps of tasty leftovers!
